How to Embed Fonts to PDF

January 12, 2016
The main reason to embed the fonts you have used in your word documents is because you want the published product to look exactly as the original design. If your fonts are not embedded, the published work could look different. Some fonts may not be printed or replaced with squares…etc, or some fonts may not look as sharp as you wanted them to be. This tutorial will show you how to embed fonts;
Click File on your Word document, then click Options, next click Save from the options on the left and then tick the “Embed fonts in the file” option, then click “OK”. When you are done, save the document as pdf .
To check if your fonts have been embedded, open the your pdf file, click “File” on your pdf document, then click “Properties” next click the “Fonts” tab; you should be able to see the embedded fonts listed.
If you are submitting your product to CreateSpace then read the following article: https://www.createspace.com/en/community/docs/DOC-1331
